Our new 7.9-gallon (30L) buckets will be replacing both the 6.5-gallon and the 7.8-gallon buckets in our portfolio. This transition has already begun, and the new buckets can be ordered from all BSG HandCraft warehouses. Limited inventory of the old buckets remains.

Why is BSG making this change?
Recent supply shortages brought upon by the COVID pandemic have caused shortages in raw materials, and labor. These challenges have frequently led to an unreliable supply of our 6.5-gallon, and 7.8-gallon buckets.
To ensure that our customers always have a steady supply of buckets, we have made the decision to offer these new 7.9 gallon (30L) buckets permanently.
Please Note: our 2-gallon bucket and lid selections will remain unchanged.
Highlights of our new 7.9 gallon (30L) buckets
These buckets are made from polypropylene, which is less porous than other types of plastic buckets, leading to a decreased risk of harboring pathogens that can contaminate your wine, beer, mead, cider, or other type of fermented beverage.
Both versions of the bucket come with pre-molded threading for accommodating a spigot. The Drilled Bucket has a hole already drilled for the spigot, while the Solid Bucket does not. This is a big improvement in both functionality and aesthetics from our 6.5 and 7.8 gallon buckets.
The new bucket also has a graduation scale, in both gallons and liters, which is molded directly into the side of the bucket.
7.9 gallon (30L) Bucket Lids
The new lid has a pre-molded hole, which comes with a more reliable push-in Red Airlock Grommet (EZZZ5252).
The molded hole eliminates our need to manually drill the lids, which has also led to shortages in the past since BSG warehouse labor is focused on packing and shipping your orders.
The lids for these buckets are more flexible than previous versions, which allows for more ease when removing them from the buckets.

Spare Parts & Accessory Items
New Equipment Kits Coming Soon
Our TrueBrew and FineWine Equipment kits will all feature these buckets henceforth. We anticipate that all BSG distribution centers will have the new versions of these kits in the next few months.
Discontinued Buckets / Lids
Due to these supply chain challenges, our 6.5-gallon and 7.8-gallon buckets will be discontinued. The following eight (8) SKUs will no longer be available once our current inventory is depleted.
